Rate Includes

Airport surcharge - This is a service fee for a car hire taking place at an airport’s premises.

Fuel Policy

Same to Same - You will pick up the car with a fixed amount of fuel in the tank and you should also return the car with the same amount of fuel. Additional charges may apply if you return the car with less fuel in the tank.

Refuelling Fees

If the vehicle is returned with less fuel in the tank than indicated in the Rental Document, you will have to pay a Refuelling Fee and for the missing fuel upon returning the vehicle.

Please note that the fuel price per litre/gallon charged by the Supplier may be higher than the price at local petrol stations.

Driver information

Driver Age

Please note that Young/Senior Driver fees will only be displayed correctly if you entered your age correctly in the search criteria. If you add Additional Drivers to your rental and any of them are considered Young/Senior Drivers, you may have to pay both an Additional Driver Fee and a Young/Senior Driver Fee.

Different driver age restrictions apply to different vehicle groups and these are applied automatically to all online rental searches. If you entered your correct age and the online search returned a specific vehicle group, you are eligible to rent it. Please note that the same restrictions apply to all Additional Drivers.

The minimum driver age for the vehicle that you selected is 18.
The maximum driver age for the vehicle that you selected is 75.
A Young/Senior Driver Fee of EUR 35.00 per day applies to drivers aged 18-20.
A Young/Senior Driver Fee of EUR 35.00 per day applies to drivers aged 66-75.

Required Documents

You and all Additional Drivers must present a full valid original Driving Licence and the voucher or booking confirmation document when picking up the vehicle. If your Driving Licence has multiple parts, you must present all of them. All requirements apply to both you and any Additional Drivers.

You must have held your Driving Licence for a minimum of 1 full year(s).

An International Driving Permit is required in addition to a National Driving Licence if your National Driving Licence is not an EU licence.

Only National Driving Licences that meet the following requirements are accepted without an International Driving Permit:

• must be issued by a country that is a contracting party of the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic
• must be printed in the Latin alphabet
• must be in credit card format

You must also present:

• Passport
• Identification card of your country of residence

You must present a credit card when picking up your rental vehicle.

Please note that it is your responsibility to make sure that you have all the necessary documentation, that your Driving Licence is valid in your intended rental country and for your intended type of rental vehicle, and that you have the correct immigration documents. The same applies if you're planning to visit other countries in a rental vehicle. Your failure to do so will result in your rental being refused and/or considered a no-show and you will be charged accordingly.

Geographical restrictions

One-Way Rentals

A rental is considered One-Way if you return the vehicle to any location other than the one you picked it up from. Each quote is only valid for the selected pick-up and return locations. To see One-Way rates for other locations, please conduct a new online search or contact us directly.

Cross-Bordering

Crossing the border is only allowed into the following countries/areas:

Greece, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia.

For these countries, you will have to pay a Cross-Bordering Fee of EUR 60.00.

Cross-bordering into the following countries/territories is NOT allowed:

Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.

Cross-bordering into countries not listed here may be possible if you reach a special agreement with the Supplier.

Please note that not only do international One-Way rentals qualify as cross-bordering – crossing the border into another country and back while returning the rental vehicle to the original pick-up location is also considered cross-bordering.

Terms for AutoUnion in Bulgaria

The Vehicle is provided with an unlimited Kilometer / Mileage Allowance. The amount authorized/collected is generally the vehicle excess. The credit card will need to be in the name of the main or the additional driver. Clients are responsible for the cost of any parking fines or other penalties incurred whilst the Vehicle is on rent to them. The supplier will pass the relevant charge on to the customer plus any administrative expenses. If the vehicle is returned later than the time specified in the voucher, the supplier will apply an extra day charge. Extra options (GPS, baby seats, snow chains) are available upon request and if applicable are Subject to Availability and Seasonal Variation, and will be provided by the location. Roof Racks are not available. In case of an accident, the client must contact the police and report the incident immediately, and submit a copy of the police report, the rental agreement to the rental location. CDW protection does not apply beyond the rental date agreed with the pickup location. For details of this insurance, please check with the supplier on the collection of the Vehicle. Exceptions in CDW, FDW & WUG: Charges for any of the damages written below will be charged directly to the client, the most important are the following: Antenna, trays, damage to car lock, loss or damage to keys, windshield wipers, the interior of the car, spare key and car jack, hubcap, lights, gas cap, damage to the upholstery of a car, damages to the roof, damages caused by roof rack and any luggage on it, extreme dirtiness in the car, personal belongings in a rented car, damage due to negligence or oversight, damages done intentionally, fuel errors, damage to child seats and baby seats, lack of electricity because of forgotten turned on electrical devices, loss of car documents, loss of registration plate. The car rental company, in any case, is not obligated to replace a flat tyre or damages music devices (radio, CD/mp3 player, etc.).Towing costs are not covered by any insurance. AutoUnion car rental will not refund any telephone, taxi or hotel costs. AutoUnion car rental or the car rental company will not be held responsible for anyone driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, causing wilful damage, off-road driving, driving without care and attention or damages caused by negligence and traffic violations. The client will accept direct responsibility in respect of such claims. Any unnoticed accident or damage to the vehicle may be interpreted as negligence. This may result in a charge to the client. Theft Protection (TP): Is included in CDW. in the case of theft or fire, the client must contact the police and report the incident immediately, and submit a copy of the police report, the rental agreement and the Vehicles keys to the rental location. Responsibility is non-waiverable in case of theft or damages due to a theft attempt (excess apply). Theft protection does not apply beyond the rental date agreed with the pickup location.
